RULES &
REGULATIONS
All persons who
enter Cloud's Canine Private Dog Park accept the following as
conditions of use:
=
Cloud's Canine Private
Dog Park is open to Cloud's Canine Club members only! All
participating dogs must have owners that are current members in
good standing with Cloud's Canine Club. Non member dogs are not
allowed, other than private park parties by reservation.
=
No other use, or type
of animal, is permitted. Bicycling, motorbike riding, smoking,
eating, and littering are strictly prohibited inside the off
leash dog park.
=
Outdoor
stereos, sound systems, and other audible devices are strictly
prohibited to preserve a calm environment.
=
Infants and toddlers
are prohibited from entering the off leash area! Children 6years
to 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult who is
responsible for their behavior and well being.
=
Owners must keep their
dog's on-leash and under control when entering or exiting the
off-leash area; otherwise, dogs should be off-leash within the
off-leash area.
=
Dog owners must close
all gates immediately after entering or exiting the
off-leash area.
=
ENTER AT YOUR OWN
RISK! Tony & Lori Cloud, Cloud's Canine LLC, and all associated
handlers, groomers, trainers, caregivers, employees, and all
associated property owners, workers, guests, and visitors are
not responsible or liable for injuries to dogs, their handlers,
or other persons who enter the Off-leash Dog Park. Dog owners
are responsible and liable for the actions of their dogs at all
times!
=
Remove your dogs leash
after passing through the first entry gate and the second gate
that allows you access to the off leash area. Mixing leashed and
unleashed dogs commonly causes problems. Leashed dogs often feel
threatened by the free dogs and will display provocative body
language and defensive behavior. If you are uncomfortable about
letting your dog off-leash, do not visit the off-leash dog park!
=
Dog owners must remain
inside the off-leash area within view and voice control of their
dogs at all times with leash in hand. Know your dog and always
keep your eye on them as mischief can happen quickly. Not all
dogs are good candidates for our off-leash dog park. If your dog
has not had regular and direct interaction with other dogs, it
may lack the necessary social skills to make your visit safe and
enjoyable. Remaining inside the dog park is not an option if you
dog lacks such skills! Leash up and leave immediately if you dog
is acting in an aggressive manner! Private training is available
through Cloud's Canine to develop your dog's social skill set
around dogs but DO NO stay in the off leash area if your dog's
behavior is unacceptable! Dogs who display behavior that is not
conducive to the well being of others may have their park
privileges suspended or revoked.
=
Keep walking. Walking,
rather than sitting or standing will help minimize defensive and
territorial behaviors. This means that you dog is more likely to
pass another dog with a friendly sniff instead of a stare down.
Be aware that dogs have different play styles, temperaments, and
physical abilities. Many dogs love rambunctious play, but some
dogs suffer from past injuries, some are more timid and aloof.
Always respect the wishes of other dog owners and be prepared to
move on to another area of the park if your dog is too
rambunctious. Leash up and leave immediately if your dog is
acting in an unacceptable manner!
=
Always scoop the poop!
Dog owners must immediately clean up after their dogs and
properly dispose of waste in the containers provided.
=
Dog owners must not
allows their dog to dig holes! Fill any holes in immediately so
unsuspecting people and dogs don't become injured.
=
Two dogs per adult
owner in the off-leash area at a time.
=
Remember that many
dogs who visit the dog park are NOT socialized to children. Keep
children close and allow NO running or screaming. Do not allow
your children to approach a dog without permission from the
dog's handler.
=
Food and drink is
strictly prohibited inside the off leash area!
=
Smoking is NOT allowed
anywhere, at any time on the property!
=
Help to keep our dog
park safe and clean! Pick up garbage and orphan poop piles.
Small actions, multiplied by many are what will keep our
off-leash dog park a pleasant and enjoyable place.
=
In the event of an
altercation between dogs, DO NOT interfere and risk serious
injury! Use the water hose to separate dogs by directly spraying
water in their face. Leash up and leave immediately! Report
incident to Cloud's Canine.
=
For emergencies or
situations requiring Police, Fire, or Medical Assistance please
call 911.
KIDS & CANINES
Cloud’s
Canine Private Dog Park was developed as a safe place for dogs
and their owners to socialize with others away from public
playgrounds and playing fields where dogs are often not allowed
due to the disruption that they may cause to the parks
activities and people with children. Cloud’s Canine Club members
may bring children to the park, but infants and toddlers are not
allowed inside the off leash area!
Children 6 years to 16
years old must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for
their behavior and well being.
Be aware that not all dogs in the park
have children in their homes. Some of them have not been exposed
to kids, or may even simply not like them. In the interest of
keeping the park a safe and enjoyable place for everyone, please
understand and follow these guidelines:
=
One adult to supervise
several children and the family dog is not enough! Make sure you
can take care of everyone you bring with you.
=
This is not the place
to bring a child to "get him/her over their fear of dogs!"
=
Shoes are required!
Children are susceptible to contracting intestinal parasites in
areas where urine and feces are present. This is why dogs are
often prohibited from playgrounds and schoolyards. Be aware that
children can also pick up fleas.
=
A running, yelling
child attracts attention and becomes a moving target for many
dogs because they may resemble an injured animal or running
prey. Do not allow your child to wildly wave his arms around,
scream, speak loudly, or run!
=
Children should not
make direct eye contact with dogs as it may be misinterpreted as
confrontational and a challenge to the dog. A child is at just
the right height for this, and therefore, at risk.
=
Children can be easily run over and knocked down by dogs in
play. Some dogs will avoid children while others will harass
them by jumping up on or nipping at them.
=
NEVER allow your child to approach or pet a dog without the
owner's permission and presence!
=
Never let a child bring food, drink, or toys inside the off
leash area. Even a friendly dog may go after the food or toy.
=
Parents should teach their children how to behave around animals
and what to do in case of any emergency BEFORE bringing them to
the dog park. (Make like a tree - stand with your legs together,
arms help high in a folded position as if giving oneself a hug,
look away from the dog and do not make eye contact with them OR
if necessary, lie down, tuck arms and legs into the body and lie
still. In both cases, wait for help or until the dog leaves.)
